The House of Representatives passed Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" on Thursday after pulling an all-nighter. Yesterday, the House held votes on amending the resolution and then voting to push a final vote.
The end vote was 218-214, with two Republicans siding with Democrats. Those representatives were Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania.

Massie had a concern about the deficit this bill would cause. The passing of the bill would reportedly raise the debt by $6 trillion.

Fitzpatrick was outspoken on the most significant issue plaguing Americans with this bill. He promised his district that he would not sign a bill that cuts Medicaid funding. Not only do people benefit from Medicaid, but places like hospitals, clinics and nursing homes rely on federal Medicaid funding.
The repercussions of this bill have already taken place. Curtis Medical Center in Curtis, Nebraska, announced its plans to close due to the looming loss of funding. Today's vote made that funding cut official. Curtis is located in Frontier County in the southwest of Nebraska. Two thousand four hundred ninety-one people voted, with 86% voting for Trump. According to KFF.org, a website specializing in healthcare policy, estimates that 17 million Americans will lose health coverage as a result of this bill.
President Trump will sign this into law tomorrow, on July 4. Stay with us for additional coverage.
